WELCOME TO OUR SEASON

Wow, so last year was a bit different – it was the first without the yurts. There was a bit of an emotional pull and it did feel odd without them, but that said, it was nice to have a slightly quieter time with just the cottages after ten years.

Feedback

However, our cottage guests really enjoyed their time with us here in Devon – guestbook feedback said things like, ‘if I could give it six stars I would’ and ‘the children couldn’t believe how much outdoor space there was to enjoy’.  ‘The cottages are so comfy and have everything you need’ and ‘the outdoor facilities were great’. Plus, ‘the Gallery is brilliant for indoor games’.

All in all, despite being different without the yurts, it would appear that The Orchard Retreat continues to be, a special place to stay. Which makes us so happy.

Bell Tents

However, here we are on day 1082 of January 2025 🙂 thinking about this season and we are excited to announce that as well as the cottages and offering camping in season at The Orchard Retreat, we have teamed up with a local bell tent company to offer bell tents in the orchard. We can offer up to three, as per the yurts – so works well for families, friends or groups.

By hiring a bell tent, it takes the hassle out of camping (they do all the setting up, with lights, rugs and provide foam mattresses and bedding). Plus, we provide the towels for the private bathrooms and all the shared kitchen facilities.

So all you need to do is bring yourself and your food – just like the yurt days. In fact bar the set up, if you are camping, everything is here for you too in terms of towels and private bathrooms and kitchens facilities.  Win win.

 

Maintenance

We will be doing our usual site and cottage maintenance, to keep things in good order and other things around the place, keeping it looking and feeling like a lovely place to stay. Something our guests always tell us.
