Spring Spring Spring – Hurray!

Spring is lovely isn’t it?  The buds are appearing on the trees (can’t wait for the apple blossom in the orchard), the bulbs are poking up and creating some much needed colour, the grass is growing and our spirits lift as the days grow longer.

The sun is out, the birds are singing and we are getting excited about opening our (yurt) doors for our fourth season. The cottages have been ticking along nicely all winter – with some lovely guests who really enjoyed the calm and peace of winter in Mid-Devon.

Countryside Setting

It’s funny as before living so deep in the countryside, having moved from a town, I noticed the seasons but I thought I had a firm favourite – Autumn. Now being surrounded by meadows, woods, orchards and streams all year round, to see each season unfold before my eyes – I don’t have a favourite anymore, each season has a purpose and I just love them all. That said, running our glamping and cottage business, the long warm days of Spring and Summer are high up there – to see our guests play outside, making memories and being together is just the reason we decided to embark on this journey.

After such a successful awards season, silver in both the Devon and South West Tourism Awards – we just can’t wait to welcome our glamping guests once again.

Our latest addition to our offerings, the outdoor bathroom suite (two cast iron baths and a shower) all surrounded by trees and the stream, our version of a glamorous hot tub, is coming along nicely and will be ready for the start of the season. Available to all our guests, you can bath the children outside, have a refreshing morning shower or have a romantic soak – side by side. Just don’t forget the fizz (for the adults only obviously).

The cottages have been refreshed and furniture re configured, – always fun to test them from a guest’s point of view and that is just what we have done. Maddy certainly didn’t want to go home – our ‘nearcation’ gave her a taste for holidays, even though we were about 10 steps from our own front door. So sweet!

Check Availability

Bookings are flowing in but there is still plenty of space for that couples week away, or family holiday so please check availability on our website or give us a call and we can certainly help you book your perfect staycation (or vacation for those coming from abroad). We love Devon and hope you will too and we look forward to meeting you all soon.

We had a lovely stay in the cottage last week. Such a peaceful site but a short walk to Thornes Farm Shop which sells and serves good food. Easy drive also to Exmoor and Dartmoor.
