The End of an Era

It’s Time To Say Farewell To The Yurts
As many of you know, we have decided to move away from the Glamping side of the business. So this season marked our last with the yurts.
It has been pretty emotional packing them up and sending them off to their new homes – more than we could imagine. Not because we don’t feel like it is the right decision. More that they are the reason we moved to Devon – with a plan of a new life. So there is definitely a part of us that feels sentimental about the change.
We are so lucky to have had such loyal and amazing guests over the years. Thank you to all of you who have stayed in the yurts. We hope that we can welcome you all to the cottages at some point.
Planning permission has gone in to convert The Gallery to another cottage. Exciting. If approved, it will be fantastic. It does mean we will lose the shop though, but may try to find somewhere else to house some essentials…like cider 😉
Plus our cottage guests will be able to use the gorgeous decking area and outdoor dinning space at the Facilities Lodge, hang out and play the lawn games. A perfect place to relax during the day and have a sundowner as the evening draws in.
Upon prior arrangement, we can open the kitchen and bathrooms for groups staying in the cottages, wanting to use the space more fully.
We will take you on this new journey, so keep an eye on our socials. The new look #OR is going to be just the same, with everything else still on offer, but even more intimate.
We can’t wait to see you all soon. In the meantime bookings are open for 2024, for Apple Tree and The Cider Barn, so do check out our availability page. https://www.theorchardretreat.co.uk/book/
